Alexander Technique for Choirs – Free tasters and a half day workshop

These are some observations and musings that were inspired by a recent and most beautiful concert given by local Devon choir Collati.
•That moment of anticipation in the wings just before walking out on stage
•The first note ( it was sublime by the way)
•The magnetism of focus between all the players /singers and conductor, creating together.
•Support… Can I feel the Ground /the 360 degree space around me /my hands.. or am I so immersed I’ve almost lost touch with my physical body
•The edges in the tricky places …where can comfort and trust sit, like a faithful hound at my feet
•Moments of alarm and recovery
Wow. And phew!
•Being one step ahead ( which piece is next, is my score the right way up, who composed this anyway?) or am I cradled in the present moment?
•breath…have I enough? Too much? Is there time?
•The rigour, vigour and deep satisfaction of sharing such beauty.
•Rehearsal fatigue?
So much goes into a performance
How might a subtle, momentary and deft placing of attention enhance and support these marvelous moments….thought travels at phenomenal speed so anything is possible!
Does this spike your curiosity?
I’m offering free taster sessions to local choirs this coming month and then putting together a work shop on 28th June near Totnes.
All the details are in the flier at the top of this post.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
